Day on the field, ending in hearts!

Alvin, following in his brothers footsteps, had decided to join a soccer team. Plagued by dad non knowing the right practice time, and then a weekend away from Montreal, Alvin missed some of the practices already.

Does not matter. Alvin is ready to play the game. He is a little later, but jumps in at action, and practices techniques with the coach and his team. While his teammates seem to have started earlier in the soccer careers, Alvin, gives it his best shot.

The teams were 4 against 5,and the coach jumping in from time to time to help the team of 4. When the game starts, Alvin in placed in the defence position. You see that he is still a beginner. He is not one to move and go get the ball. Dad needed to get in there and encourage him to chase the ball, and get in the game. With that, he started chasing the ball.

While his teammates are better in skill level, Alvin still ran and did his best. He definitely got an A for effort, He needs some practice with his brother and cousins, so he can improve his kicking and running.

After a tough day on the field, he enjoyed himself very much. We had also planned another activity after the practice. There was an child – parent activity to do some arts and crafts St Valentine projects. So, we hopped into the car, and headed on over to that activity. After a little confusion, we were able to find the right place. They showed us the room, and we took our seats.

Once we sat down, they showed us us two things that we could make. Either a lady bug, or cut out harts on which we could write a message or draw images. Then, add a string to hang them up.

Alvin started with his lady bug, and those in charge of the class told Alvin how great his was. He was all smiles. He decided to give it to his Mom:) Once finished, we realized that we still have lots of time. Alvin decided to make a heart for his Mom. WE had so much time that he made one for his Grandma and brother too!

He was a happy camper as he walked out of the class. We jumped in the car and headed home. He immediately shared the gifts with Mom, Manou and Matisse, every one and all were happy. Oops, Matisse a little less smiley, but I am sure, that some where underneath that half frown/half smile, he was happy have his brother give him a gift:)

And then the world was a better place!
